PEST BUSINESS

Strengthened focus with new customer-led structure

Customer Lead Structure of PPM

Syngenta Professional Solutions (SPS) today announced an evolved structure designed to strengthen its support for Professional Pest Management (PPM) customers across Australia and New Zealand.

The changes bring clearer accountability, deeper segment expertise and a stronger customer focus to the SPS business. Professional Pest Management and Vegetation Management will now sit under a single Business Manager role, led by Michael Uttley, while sales responsibilities transition to Dean Mosch, National Sales Manager for Syngenta Professional Solutions ANZ.

“This refreshed structure creates stronger alignment across two important market segments while keeping customers and their needs at the centre of our decisions. We are building a clearer strategy, an energised team and a growing pipeline of solutions that will help PPM customers tackle the challenges they face every day” commented Steve Bitter, Head of Syngenta Professional Solutions ANZ.

Effective 1 September 2026, Michael has been appointed Business Manager of Vegetation Management & Professional Pest Management. He will lead the strategic direction, portfolio and go-to-market approach for both segments.

Michael brings extensive leadership experience across Syngenta ANZ, including roles in Seedcare, portfolio management and Professional Solutions. Since joining SPS in late 2024, he has led the integration of the Macspred business and developed a refreshed strategy for the business now known as Syngenta Vegetation Management.

Dean Mosch will continue as National Sales Manager, a role he has held since April 2025. Having joined Syngenta in 2018 as a Queensland Sales Manager supporting the Turf and Landscape portfolio, Dean will lead a high-performing, collaborative sales team with a clear focus on customer proximity and service. With the PPM sales team reporting into Dean, SPS is strengthening dedicated sales leadership, training and coaching—harmonised across the entire SPS organisation—to build and coach a high-performing team, encourage collaboration across the wider business, and deliver the best customer experience possible.

As part of this commitment, Syngenta has also appointed Chris Mills as Territory Sales Manager for Queensland, the Northern Territory and Northern New South Wales.

Chris brings 26 years of pest management industry experience, spanning hands-on technical roles, operational management and business development. Most recently, he operated his own pest management business, giving him a current, practical understanding of the pressures facing pest professionals.

“I am excited and grateful to be joining the Syngenta PPM team,” Chris said. “I look forward to reconnecting with customers, building new relationships and helping pest professionals solve difficult pest challenges. Having recently worked hands-on in my own business, I understand the importance of practical, reliable support-particularly on complex termite and cockroach jobs, and in addressing growing fire ant concerns.”

The new model moves SPS from a more generalist structure to specialist-led business segments. It is intended to improve decision-making, strengthen ownership and enable Syngenta to deliver greater value to PPM customers through focused expertise, innovation and field support.
